We have been singing the praises of the new 2021 Kia Seltos since we first heard about its release, and for good reason. The Seltos is a compact crossover SUV that is made for those who appreciate adventure and the great outdoors, but it also works just fine as a daily driver for the weekday commutes. The Seltos aims to stand out from the crowded market of crossover SUVs, so we know that this vehicle is not without its competition, especially among those crossovers that have been on the market for a while already. Let’s take a look at a comparison of the 2021 Kia Seltos vs the 2020 Chevy Trax and see how they stack up.

The 2021 Kia Seltos has a starting MSRP of $21,990 while the 2020 Chevy Trax comes in with a starting MSRP a bit lower than that at $21,300. While the idea of spending $690 less sounds great, just think of what that lower price will mean. With any SUV, whether it is a small crossover like these or a full-size model, you want to be sure you have plenty of room for your cargo. The 2021 Seltos offers 14.4 cubic feet more cargo space than the Trax. Just think of what you’ll be able to take along for the ride with that much more room in the Seltos. Conversely, think of what you’ll have to leave behind with the Trax.
Another trait that adds to the ruggedness of the Seltos is its standard all-wheel drive (AWD) drivetrain, which provides better grip and stability on various surfaces. It does also have an option of front-wheel drive if you wish, but it’s nice to be able to get AWD as the standard drivetrain for a change, which is not the case with the Trax. Plus, the Seltos hammers out more horsepower to go with that drivetrain, making for a match made in off-road heaven.
