2019 Kia Optima design features

One of the most popular and successful Kia models over the last decade has been the Kia Optima. This sedan comes with everything modern drivers want and need. Modern technology, high performance, and good looks combine to make the Kia Optima one of the best sedans in its class. Let’s touch on that last one. The first thing most people notice about their vehicle or someone else’s vehicle is how it looks. That’s just kind of how our eyes and brains work. Let’s go over some of the design features of the 2019 Kia Optima.

What are some notable design details of the 2019 Kia Optima?

Grille

Okay, so yes, just about every car has a grille. A vehicle’s grille allows air to enter the front-side of the engine and also acts as a shield for the radiator and motor. The base Optima comes with a matted gray grill, but other trims come with different looks. The S and EX models come with a gloss black grille, while the SX features a slightly modified sport grille, also gloss black.

Sport black mirrors

The SX trim comes as a sportier version of this sedan. The grille above combines with gloss black sport side-view mirrors to give a subtle yet effectively fierce appearance.

Panoramic sunroof

Available on all trims but standard on the SX, the Optima’s panoramic sunroof looks great and serves a nice purpose. You can open it up on nicer days to get the ideal airflow, or simply open the power sunshade to let some more light in.

Solar control glass

Science has made it possible for the Optima’s windows to reduce interior heat buildup from the sun. Every trim comes standard with solar control glass so those extra hot days don’t cook the inside of your car.
