1.4L Turbo Inline 4-Cylinder Engine
The secondary engine—a 1.4L turbo inline 4-cylinder engine—is only available on the GT-Line Turbo trim of the 2020 Kia Soul. This 201-horsepower engine is able to offer up to 195 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the 2.0L I-4 engine, the 1.4L turbo engine is paired with a 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT).
The 1.4L turbo I-4 engine paired with the DCT is able to achieve a fuel economy rating of 27 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. As you can tell, the 1.4L turbo engine offers much higher performance output, while barely sacrificing any fuel economy when compared to the 2.0L I-4 engine.
