Release Date for the 2022 Kia Sportage
The Kia Sportage is getting perilously close to its 30th anniversary as an active member of the automaker’s roster. In that time it has become one of the most popular crossover SUVs Kia has produced and continues to prove itself as a strong option inside one of the most densely packed and highly competitive segments in the global automotive industry. When the release date for the 2022 Kia Sportage arrives at the Concord Kia showroom, potential buyers will see more features added to the available LX Value Edition and a standard sunroof for the EX trim grade. Beyond that many of the features and systems found with the 2022 Sportage will be the same as last year. 2022 Sportage Performance Specs
Concord Kia customers choosing the LX, Nightfall Edition and EX trims will have a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood that will be attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain combination will make 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque.
The top-of-the-line SX Turbo version employs a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and the same six-speed automatic. Owners of the SX Turbo can expect to see up to 240 horsepower with front-wheel-drive and 237 horsepower with all-wheel-drive. All SX Turbo models will produce 260 pound-feet of torque.
A 2022 Sportage can tow up to 2,000 pounds when the trailer is equipped with brakes.
How much cargo volume is available?
Kia has been careful to make sure not to compromise the available cargo volume for the 2022 Sportage. The five-passenger, two-row crossover SUV will be able to accommodate up to 30.7 cubic-feet of cargo volume when people are utilizing the rear seat. When the rear seat is folded away, that space nearly doubles to up to 60.1 cubic-feet of cargo room.
